Hercules and Love Affair is the musical brainchild of visionary DJ and producer Andy Butler.
This project is the result of a mixture of various musical genres, which came about while working with a varied cast of composers, producers, singers and instrumentalists who capture the audience's attention from the beginning to the end of each performance.
The group has more than a decade of worldwide success, initiated by the single 'Blind', which was released in 2008 with the collaboration of the emblematic artist Anohni (Antony Hegarty), who is also the founder of Anthony and the Jonhsons. The song was a worldwide hit and topped the charts in several countries for several weeks.
This first original work also received the distinction of best album of the year by the specialized press. Since then, three more albums have followed, with collaborations with artists such as LCD Soundsystem, John Grant, U.N.K.L.E, Cut Copy, among others.
"In Amber”, their fifth and most recent album in five years, was born out of the opportunity to construct a new sonic ‘palate'. It was created with a deep desire to explore new emotional fields that stay far away from the standards used in today’s electronic music.
Recently, Hercules & Love Affair have been on tour with 'Fatboy Slim' and performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. They are preparing to launch the official tour of the new album as a world premiere on Friday, May 27th at the Aqui Acolá Festival in Ponta do Sol!
